Chick Lit Writers of the World is very excited to announce the winners of our 2009 Get Your Stiletto in the Door contest. We’d like to send an extra-special thanks to all our volunteer first-round judges, and especially to our fabulous category coordinators! Without them, this contest would never have gotten off the ground.

The GOTCHA contest needs new, experienced, and a few published judges for most categories. Most people will get five entries of the first 15 pages of a manuscript, there is nothing else to judge, and you have until January to finish. Our scoresheet is easy to fill out. And yes, we pay in chocolate! What could be better? So please contact us: gotcha.

Announcing the 2010 Between the Sheets Contest! Greater Detroit RWA’s annual love scene contest for unpublished writers. Enter your best 10-page love scene (anywhere from erotic to sweet).
Final Round Judges: Leah Hultenschmidt, Dorchester; Patience Smith, Harlequin/Silhouette; Melissa Jeglinski, The Knight Agency. Deadline: February 14, 2010. Fee: $25. The Write Stuff Contest is now open. Our committee has gone to great lengths to find acquiring editors and agents who have all made recent offers to unpublished authors to serve as our final judges. In addition, the top prize in each category is $100! Your chances are great.the contest is limited to the first 85 entries to ensure thoughtful and helpful comments. The Passionate Ink Chapter of RWA Presents: The 15 Minute Synopsis – Last Chance to Register this Week. Date: November 16-20, 2009. Presented by: Sharon Page. Write a synopsis in 15 minutes? Impossible? No, author Sharon Page has written a quick “blurb” synopsis for a story in 15 minutes, and sold it! Sharon’s tips will help everyone build a synopsis just as efficiently, and she will reveal the most important secret to writing one quickly.

Michelle Diener writes historical novels for Gallery Books. Her debut novel, IN A TREACHEROUS COURT, due out on August 2nd, 2011, is set in the court of Henry VIII. It features the real historical figures of illuminator and painter, Susanna Horenbout, and Henry's Keeper of the Palace of Westminster and Yeoman of the King's Robes, John Parker. The second book in this series, KEEPER OF THE KING'S SECRETS, is set for an early 2012 release.
