The Desert Rose Chapter’s Desert Dreams Conference runs April 16-18, 2010 at Chaparall Suites in Scottsdale, Arizona. Conference fees until December 31s are $208 for RWA members, including an editor or agent appointment . After December 31, the fee is $228 for RWA members. Central Ohio Fiction Writers’ January workshop is The Personality Ladder and Plotting Via Motivation by Laurie Schnebly Campbell, January 23 in Columbus, OH. “Once we nail down any character’s motivation, it doesn’t matter what takes place in their world…they’ll create a plot from WHATEVER happens. RWA Chapter Contests
Yellow Rose Romance Writers announces the opening of the 2010 Winter Rose contest for unpublished and published writers. The contest includes a Mainstream with Romantic Elements category judged by Danielle Poisez, Pocket Books. Other judges include Theresa Stevens (Red Sage Publishing), Alicia Condon (Dorchester), Emmanuelle Alspaugh (Judith Ehrlich Literary Agency), Deb Werksman (Sourcebooks), Victoria Curran (Harlequin), Melissa Frain (TOR).
