Yellow Rose Romance Writers announces the opening of the 2010 Winter Rose contest for unpublished and published writers. The contest includes a Mainstream with Romantic Elements category judged by Danielle Poisez, Pocket Books. Other judges include Theresa Stevens (Red Sage Publishing), Alicia Condon (Dorchester), Emmanuelle Alspaugh (Judith Ehrlich Literary Agency), Deb Werksman (Sourcebooks), Victoria Curran (Harlequin), Melissa Frain (TOR).

RWA Chapter Workshops

The Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal Special Interest Chapter of RWA presents: Warrior-Writer Overview: How to Go from Writer to Author, Creatively and in Business, led by best-selling author Bob Mayer. November 30, 2009 – December 20, 2009 for both fiction and non-fiction authors. While there are numerous workshops focused on writing, this focuses on the strategies, tactics and mindset a writer needs to develop in order to be a successful author. RWA Chapter Conferences

Southwest Florida Romance Writers will host a 1-day workshop with author/book doctor Tony Andrews on February 6, 2010. More information about the workshop to come, but authors who would like to send promotional items should email workshop@swfrw.org for address details.

The Desert Rose Chapter’s Desert Dreams Conference runs April 16-18, 2010 at Chaparall Suites in Scottsdale, Arizona. Conference fees until December 31 are $208 for RWA members, including an editor or agent appointment . After December 31, the fee is $228 for RWA members.
